Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.
